3 Oranges

Three Oranges - that's the name of two girls and a guy -- Aušra, Livija, and Audrius -- a music group from the seaside town of Klaipėda, Lithuania.

Why such a name? It comes from their childhood love for Persian fairytales (see the excellent one called Love for Three Oranges), and the affection for the distant and warm lands where they often perform. Besides, the orange is probably one of the most popular fruits in the whole world… And it just so happens, that the orange colour (the colour that is often times worn by life guard type people) has after September 11th become one of the most fashionable colours. The musicians are also known to every once in a while enjoy the Lithuanian liqueur that goes by their same name (that of course being Three Oranges). And frankly speaking, a name like say Two Lemons and a Banana, would have sounded quite suspicious.

The Three Oranges repertoire is made up of about 300 songs. This includes golden oldies (the oldest oldie being from 1925) as well as the newest songs from the genres of rock, country, pop, and jazz. These songs are performed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabian, and even Swahili languages.

The group initially got together in 1994, in order to perform in the United Arab Emirates. They are still playing together today. Throughout the years, they have performed thousands of times, in Europe, in Asia, and in Africa.

3 Oranges will start playing Lithuanian and Russian pop songs as soon as any of these songs wins Grammy... or at least will becomes famous in Europe.
In 2007 the band was noticed by engaged couples who were bored by the traditional Lithuanian wedding music. Because of years of experience in hotels of various countries 3 Oranges are perfectly fit to please the tastes of young and well educated Lithuanian and especially international couples and their guests.

Also 3 Oranges successfully perform at the parties of dance clubs and schools - rumba, samba, quickstep, foxtrot, cha-cha-cha makes a significant part of band's repertoire.
